Do you want to know how to do a t-shirt makeover in less than 10 minutes? Go from plain to WOW with no sewing involved!
Go from this plain T-Shirt…
Using only these…
In less than 10 minutes!
I know. You think I’m joking right?!?!
While I do love a good joke, nope. Totally serious here! Amazing huh?
Here is how to do this super simple no-sew t-shirt makeover!
Take any t-shirt. It can be old, big, boxy, it does not have to be a great shirt!
How to Create Knotted Sleeves for a T-shirt Makeover
Cut off the seams on the sleeves.
Cut along the top of the sleeve all the way back to where the sleeve meets the shirt.
Take the two ends and tie them in a knot.
Making a New Neckline for a T-Shirt Makeover
Fold the shirt in half and cut a new neckline. Be careful. It is easy to cut too large of a neckline. It is always easier to cut more off, so start small!
How to Make an Empire Waist for a T-shirt Makeover
Fold the shirt about 2″ below the bottom of where the sleeves meet the shirt and snip tiny straight lines through all 4 layers of shirt. (Careful! Only snip about 1/2″ in length!)
Cut the bottom hem off.
*Optional: You can then go back and cut a new shirt bottom if you like. I cut mine straight across because I didn’t have much length on my shirt, but you could easily cut it at an angle and give the shirt a bit more spunk!
Take the bottom seam and cut it apart.
Thread the bottom seam fabric through the snips in the shirt and tie to create a new empire waistline.
And enjoy your new, super cute, super easy, recycled shirt!
(Excuse the blurry mirror photos…I had no one around to take photos of the t-shirt for me!)
