My children are so excited for Easter! Like many of your, one of our favorite traditions is to decorate eggs every year. But if I am being perfectly honest with you, I actually cringe every time I bring out dyes in unstable plastic cups and let my children drop eggs in them! Eek! I worry that something will get stained and ruined and so often I look for other fun ways to decorate eggs without needing to dye them! Today, I am thrilled to show you how to create really simple, Polka Dotted Easter Eggs! (no dye needed!)
While at Meijer the other day, I picked up the latest copy of All You magazine and found so much great inspiration in there! One of the ideas I loved was to use Mod Podge and Napkins to decorate Easter Eggs! I thought that was a really cute idea, but I didn’t want to sit and cut shapes out of napkins to adhere it to hard boiled eggs. I wanted a quicker, more kid-friendly option.
So I came up with an easier and less time consuming idea and I was able to grab everything I needed right there in the store! And this idea is perfect for the kiddos to help with too!
To create these cute Polka Dotted Easter Eggs, you will need:
- hardboiled eggs
- mod podge
- foam brush
- polka dotted crepe paper
I simply cut strips of crepe paper long enough to wrap around my hard boiled eggs and then cut it in half width-wise.
Next I used my foam brush and mod podge to adhere the crepe paper to the egg and then I let it dry completely!
And just in case someone is wondering, no, mod podge is not edible. But as long as my hard boiled eggs didn’t have any cracks in them, I didn’t worry about contaminating the eggs.
Aren’t these just the cutest??
And the best part is that these cost pennies to create! So I saved a ton of money on egg decorating kits, I let go of my stress of kids playing with dye, and we created these fun and unique alternative for decorating Easter eggs this year!
There are so many inspirational and money-saving tips (and coupons) in April’s issue of All You Magazine! It is truly one of the most fun magazines out there in my opinion. And I am also excited for the nationwide launch of All You Magazine at Target, Safeway, Kroger, Meijer, and Dollar General.
