Chocolate Saltine Cracker Toffee Recipe

  • 1 bag Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 sleeve Unsalted Saltine Crackers
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 stick Margarine
  1. Spread saltines in a single layer on a cookie sheet.
  2. Melt margarine and sugar in a pan over the stove.
  3. Bring margarine and sugar to a boil, and stir it constantly, for about 3 minutes.
  4. Pour the margarine/sugar mixture over the saltines and spread so that it coats all of the crackers evenly.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top of the crackers.
  7. Place the pan back into the oven for a couple of minutes until the chocolate melts (note that chocolate chips do not change shape when they begin to melt, so only leave your pan in the oven for a minute or two before taking it out)
  8. Spread the melted chocolate chips evenly on top of the crackers.
  9. Place the pan in the refrigerator until it is set.
  10. Remove the Chocolate Saltine Cracker Toffee from the refrigerator and break apart into pieces.
  11. Keep in a cool dry place (or in the refrigerator) until ready to serve.
