    Strawberry Lime-Aid {Sonic Knock-Off Soda}

    I might be one of the only people who has never gone to a Sonic.  Until a couple months ago.  And then I had the pleasure of trying my first Sonic Strawberry Lime-Aid.  I was not quite prepared for how yummy it was!

    I then proceeded to drink as many more as I possibly could before I returned to the Land-of-No-Sonic's here in the Middle.

    So, determined I could create my own Sonic Strawberry Lime-Aid knock-off-recipe, and I started down the path of trial and error until, I am happy to announce, I think I finally nailed it!

    Here is my version of Sonic's Strawberry Lime-Aid soda.

    Try it, I think you will be happy you did. 🙂

    Strawberry Lime-Aid {Sonic Knock-Off Soda}
    Yield: 1 serving

    Ingredients:

    • 1 cup lemon-lime soda
    • 2 tsp lime juice
    • 4 tsp frozen Bacardi's Strawberry Daiquiri concentrate
    • Lime slice
    • Crushed ice (optional but it does make it that much better!)

    Directions:

    1. Fill a large glass about half way full with crushed ice
    2. Add soda, lime juice and frozen strawberry daiquiri concentrate to glass and stir gently to combine
    3. Add a lime slice or two to taste

    Now, to try to stave off any questions, about the Bacardi's Strawberry Daiquiri concentrate.  You will want to buy the frozen Bacardi's Strawberry Daiquiri concentrate / mix.  This will be with all of the frozen juices at your local grocery store.  And no, there is no alcohol in this.

    You will bring it home and leave it in the freezer.  You will not mix it up.  And then when you want to make your strawberry lime-aid you will just spoon out about 4 tsp directly into your glass.  Easy huh?!

    And it is really quite yummy!

    Thank you Sonic for the inspiration!  And thank you to my 5 year old daughter who, when I let her try the final version exclaimed "It tastes JUST LIKE that drink we got!!"  Oh yeah...she was my biggest fan for the rest of the night. 🙂

    Do you have a favorite drink you wish you could recreate at home?
