    Monster Pops

We love making cake pops around our house, and Halloween was the perfect excuse to try out our newest appliance from BabyCakes: the Flip-Over Cake Pop Maker!  We created some perfectly sweet, no-so-scary Monster Pops!

These are perfect for Halloween but would also be perfect for a Monster Birthday Party or even just for anytime 🙂  We are not discriminating about the time of year we make and eat cake pops in our house and these monsters are the perfect little boy (and girl) pleaser!  They are cute, simple and tasty!

I simply used a babycakes Cake Pop Mix and followed the directions from the mix and the cake pop maker to make my pops.  But you can also use your own recipe!  (You can see my full tutorial here on how to make cake pops using babycakes Cake Pop Maker.)
(Please note that I used their new Flip-Over Machine though to make these Monster Pops though!  Both machines are wonderful, but the Flip-Over cake pop maker does create rounder cake pops with more uniform coloring!  But more on that in an upcoming post...)

After my cake pops were made and cooled, I used Wilton Candy Melts to coat my cake pops in these fun and bold monster-inspired colors!

You can check out my tips and tricks for melting chocolate for dipping here if you want to learn the best ways to successfully melt chocolate!

And then I concocted my own sprinkle combination to dip the tops in for the Monster Hair.

And then I added 1, 2 or 3 Wilton Eyeball candies to make the monsters complete!

These set quickly and were ready to enjoy!  I packed a few up to take to some friends and will be eating the rest of them tonight to help the sugar-rush begin before we take the kids trick-or-treating 🙂  (oh my what was I thinking!?)  ha!
