Sometimes I get overwhelmed with life. Being a stay-at-home-mom of a 4 year old girl and a 1 year old boy can be a lot of work, plus cleaning, laundry, family responsibilities and other household chores…it can really be overwhelming sometimes.
I do my best to keep a clean house and not let the laundry pile up too high, but sometimes I find I am more focused on marking things off my to-do list then I should be.
I am blessed to be able to stay home right now and I sometimes need to remind myself that THAT is the most important job. So when I saw this cute plaque on pintrest the other day, I knew I needed to make myself something similar. (The original sign I was inspired by was from Catching Fireflies)
I already had a wood board that I didn’t love. So I primed it and painted it all cream. Then I attached vinyl lettering (thanks to my good friend at NataLee Allen Designs!) Next I spray painted the entire board brown. After it was dry, I carefully peeled the lettering off!
But it wasn’t quite right. So I carefully rubbed a bit of stain all over the whole thing and I distressed the edges just a tiny bit!
Yup. I love my board! It is hanging near my kitchen table which makes it really easy to see and to remind myself that sometimes I need to stop worrying about my to-do list and focus on my kids!
Do you sometimes have trouble with this too, or is it just me?
