I have written about one of my favorite family traditions in the past (here) but I wanted to revisit it again this year because our family does this every December and loves it, plus I was issued a challenge that I simply couldn’t refuse!
Every year, starting December 1st, we read a Christmas book every night! If we are on top of things, we actually wrap all 25 books and let our children pick one to open every night to read! It is a fun tradition and one of our favorites! My children look forward to it all year long!
This year, Duck Brand® Tape challenged me to Duck the Halls and incorporate their Holiday themed Duck Tape® into this holiday season. I knew right away that this would provide me with a really fun way to wrap up our Christmas Books this year!!
I love wrapping our Christmas books up in different wrapping paper so that when we start putting Christmas presents under the tree, it doesn’t get confusing! And this year I wanted to wrap my packages in kraft paper!
To make them a little fun and festive, I added just a touch of Duck Brand® Holiday Duck Tape to each package instead of a ribbon or bow! I think they turned out so cute and I can’t wait for my children to see cute they are wrapped!
Now a few tips with our 25 Days of Christmas Book Tradition!
- It’s not too late to start! Just begin tonight and end on Christmas Eve!
- You can start small! The first year we did this we started half way through the month. It took me several years (and a very nice grandma!) to acquire 25 Christmas books!
- Look for books on sale after Christmas or through Scholastic book orders through school.
- Borrow books from the library! (just remember to return them!)
Here are a few of the books that we will be reading this month:
There are more books…we actually have over 25! But the rest are wrapped and I can’t remember them all! Oops! But just start looking and you will find lots of holiday books for the season!
What’s your favorite holiday book?
